Meditation - Learn to Relax
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to sit comfortably in a relaxing environment with only a few others and learn how to meditate – that’s what you will be able to do! After one mindful matters class you will be able to meditate!
What is meditation?
Meditating is simply an opportunity to put your mind at rest – to give it a much needed break from the constant chatter that seems to fill it, enabling you to relax, free yourself from your worries and to think clearly. It’s also an opportunity of getting in touch with higher universal energies that give you direction and assurance.
Despite what you have hard or if you have tried meditating and have been frustrated, we promise – it is easy to do, requires little time (as much as you wish to devote) and will soon become a treasured practice in your daily routines.
Mindful matters takes the mystery and difficulty out of meditating. It also enables you to learn to mediate in a small group in a relaxing home environment where you will receive individualized attention.
We all have pre-conceived notions about meditating from discussions with others; seeing it on TV and viewing pictures in books. Here are some answers to questions you may have.
Do I have to sit in a lotus position?
Not at all, mindful matters wants you to be able to comfortably meditate anywhere. While eastern cultures may be used to seeing people in a lotus position (sitting upright, on the floor, with your legs crossed), it is still unusual in the western world. It is best then to use a position that we are accustomed to – sitting in a chair. By doing this we can not only meditate at home, but at the office, as a passenger in a car, on a bus, at a boring movie or at the beach.
Will my mind go absolutely blank?
Your mind was created to hold and manipulate your thoughts. Struggling to reach a state where you have absolutely no thoughts goes against its purpose and is usually a major frustration in those trying to mediate for the first time. So, you will be taught to divest yourself of those thoughts that plague us all each day. You will be able to give your mind a rest. Meditation enables you and your mind to experience wonderful, calming moments that positively affect the very health of your spirit.Meditation Classes
